Med Device Academy · a Med Dev Services initiative

Experience is most valuable when it is shared.

Consultancy solves the problem in front of you. Capability stops it recurring. The Med Device Academy takes the same thirty years of commercial experience and puts it into a structured programme, so your own team can do more of this work themselves.

Why it exists

Capable product managers in this industry are routinely asked to navigate the NHS, build a pricing case, commission clinical evidence and win a tender — without ever having been taught any of it in a structured way. They learn it by doing, expensively, over several years.

The Academy exists because clients kept asking the same question at the end of an engagement: how do we do this ourselves next time?

It is a supporting asset within Med Dev Services, not a separate business. MDS is a commercial consultancy that also builds capability — which, for a business choosing an adviser, is a fairly useful thing to know.

Who it is for

  • Product managers and product marketers in UK MedTech
  • Commercial teams new to the NHS and UK market
  • Sales support and customer service teams
  • International manufacturers building a UK-facing team
  • Businesses that want capability to stay in-house after a consultancy engagement

The programmes

Two pathways.

Online, on-demand and designed to fit around a working week.

Pathway 01

PM Academy

The complete programme for product managers: fourteen expert modules across commercial mastery, market access and stakeholder management — covering NHS navigation, pricing strategy, clinical evidence and tender management.

  • 14 modules, twelve months' access
  • Audio-led learning, quizzes and reading resources
  • Downloads and certificate on completion

Pathway 02

UK MedTech Essentials

A practical course for sales support and customer service teams who deal with the NHS every day and need a proper grounding in how the UK healthcare market actually works.

  • Built for customer-facing roles
  • Twelve months' access
  • Downloads and certificate on completion

How it is built

Knowledge alone doesn't change behaviour.

Which is why the programme has three parts rather than one.

PART 01

Knowledge foundation

Fourteen modules of UK MedTech-specific content, audio-led, with quizzes and reading resources.

PART 02

Personal understanding

The Spotlight Performance psychometric, for self-awareness and insight into individual working style.

PART 03

Professional transformation

One-to-one coaching to apply the learning to the real situations in front of the individual.

Access

Individual seats through to a custom academy.

Most businesses start with a seat or two and move to a team licence once it is clear what it does to the quality of internal conversation. A custom academy builds the content around your own portfolio, categories and priorities.

Current pricing and enrolment are held on the Academy site.

One person, twelve months' access to all modules, downloads and certificate.
Team access
Up to four seats, with activity reporting and a one-to-one session.
Company licence

Tell me what you are trying to work out.

No obligation, and no expectation that you already know exactly what you need. Most useful engagements begin with a thirty-minute conversation about the problem.
